I love the last book in the Chronicles of Narnia, “The Last Battle.” At the end of the book, the world comes crashing down and everyone gets thrown into a New Narnia. They go on to describe this new world. The colors are brighter, the smells are stronger, the fruit is tastier and laughter is contagious. So, they start running. They explore anything and everything. They keep shouting, “further up and further in.” So, they run farther, only to find it keeps getting better. Better and better.
I have to agree. Tonight, I heard the Lord whisper in my ear, “Jonathan, I said I was going to blow your mind, and I have. Do you want more? Do you want to go farther, deeper?” Then he said, “Son, I’m not ready for you to reach the plateau yet. I’m not ready for you to stop. I gave you a reason to dance, sing, and love. Now, I’m ready to give you a reason to love bigger. To shout louder. To run faster. Keep seeking me.”
It’s so hard sometimes to find God when things are going great. It’s easy to fall into complacency and be content being content. On the other hand, it’s easy to seek God when we feel like we need him. But, when we seek the Lord, it keeps getting better if we keep pursuing. He has more. He wants to give us more. We must keep seeking, even when things are just great. We must pursue until we have taken hold. He says he has life to the abundance for us. We just have to go get it.
